The IRS is sending many Americans Economic Impact Payments, otherwise known as Economic Impact Payment as stimulus payments. These are automatic for many taxpayers, who filed tax returns in 2018 and 2019, and most seniors and retirees. But if you don’t file taxes, you need to use the “Non-Filers: Enter Your Payment Info Here” application to get your payment. In mid-April, the IRS will launch a Get My Payment application, where you can check the status of your Economic Impact Payment, change your payment from check to direct deposit, and provide direct deposit bank account information so that your payment will arrive more quickly.
